maggie mae

...the flower queen. weeper for days past, uncertain for the days to come.

she appeared right after wolf woman. maybe the flip side of the coin...

wild hair... unable to be controlled

flailing roots, planted in the ether...

and if maggie mae was a reflection of me at the time of stitching, i'm not sure it still applies. i think i've shifted a little over to the side somewhere...

grace sent me a book to read (thank you! thank you! thank you!). women who run with wolves. i can't put into words how much it is meaning to me. i think, it and grace have something alot to do with the shifting...

[used jude's crayon drawing method on the roots. amazing... with the heat, the crayons just melted into the cloth. what a feeling... so smoooth... i have so many ideas for this.]

Ah, you were meant to have grace's Women Who Run With the Wolves because your wolf woman has called forth La Loba, she who resonates deeply with me. You will find many myths and women of myth and most of all, important truths in this book. In reading of the powerful Baba Yaga, perhaps these words may have meaning: Estes is speaking of persona: "clothing represents persona, the first view the public gains of us." She tells of the symbolic cleansing of Baba Yaga's clothing and how the washing is a way we come to know the qualities of strength and endurance. Estes says," We learn how to sort, mend, and renew the instinctive psyche through a purifacatio, the washing of the fibers of the being."

marti thank you for these words... this book is beyond what i've been asking for. i'm going slow with it, trying to let everything i read sink in. i just read la loba last night and i believe she has heard my soul cries. i had unreal days yesterday and today. so hectic yet, something was different today. i'll remember your words when i read Baba Yaga. thank you so much marti...

jude i feel like i'm seeing everything new. everything was such a blur then... i am really enjoying trying everything out! :) i LOVE that wrap stitch...

hahahhaha grace i can see you dancing! i went to watch her video, and nieces and i were dancing too! -- :shining: :)

thanks ger, debi and jacky! i've set her down for now. i did a 'grab bag' method and out popped a sun-eater beast yesterday morning. i think this one will catch my attention for the moment... :)
